| What makes Rhythm special? |
We offer a quality program of pre-dance, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and ballet set in a wholesome environment where positive attitudes are encouraged. In addition to our curriculum, we believe that values learned in the formative years carry-over to the other areas of the students' lives and help propel them to success. Our children's program is second-to-none. We have a well-planned, well-written syllabus with superior teachers who prove invaluable in making the children feel special and in knowing what works and what doesn't. (Back to question.) |

| What is your facility like? |
The studio is modern with the state-of-the-art amenities. It was built for dancers by dancers with high ceilings, floor-length mirrors, and two-level barres. Some of the building's outstanding features are a large waiting area, New England birch floating floors, Marley floors, two-way mirrors, and the teacher's locker room. In accordance with our philosophy, all our studios are at one location with room for growth. Please be sure to view a slideshow of our Studio. (Back to question.) |

| Where are you located? |
All roads lead to Rhythm! We are located in the heart of downtown Matthews - 120 W. Matthews Street. Conveniently located near I-485, Highway 51, and Highway 74. Our entry is on the side of the building. Call the Studio for more detailed directions from your location or view the detailed directions/map available on our site. (Back to question.)
| Do you have a professional teaching staff? | Yes,
we do! (Their individual bios can be found in the
instructors section of our web site.)
All of these wonderful dance instructors have many things in
common: they love dance; they love children; they are
experienced teachers who epitomize excellence; they keep up with
the latest moves by taking classes in New York and Los Angeles;
and they are constantly striving for new and innovative ways to
keep their curriculum fresh and exciting. (Back to question.) |

What is the age range and experience necessary to participate in
your program? |
We offer classes for students ranging from 3 years old and up and classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. It is our goal to provide your child with a class in which he or she feels comfortable while being challenged. (Back to question.)
| Do you have competition teams? | Yes, we
do. Being involved in competition can be a rewarding
experience for dancers of all ages. In August, auditions are
held to choose team members. An entire day is scheduled for these tryouts. All, including the present Rhythm members, are required to audition. Any student who has never competed with Rhythm is also invited to participate. All decisions are made by qualified and impartial judges. You can read more about our program by clicking here. You are also invited to view our competition program slideshow. (Back to question.) |
|
| Do you have a yearly recital? | Yes, each
year we celebrate a year's worth of hard work with a
"knock-your-socks-off" recital. Both our dress rehearsal and
dance recital are typically held in May. The costumes are
affordable with deposits due in October. The costume balance is
due in February. A fee to rent the auditorium is due in March.
All accounts (including the May tuition) are due in full no
later than April 30th. No costume will be given to a student
until all fees are paid.
Your are invited to view our recital slideshows. (Back to question.) |

Can my child take classes whenever he/she wants and what type of
commitment is expected? |
Our
dance program places dancers according to their level and age.
A commitment to class attendance is extremely important for a
dancer’s progress. A student is expected to pay every month
regardless of how many classes are missed. Missed or cancelled
classes may be made up on a similar level. No refunds or
reductions are given for missed classes. (Back to question.) |

Am I allowed
to watch my child in class? |
All classes are closed for viewing so that teachers and students can retain their focus without distraction. But remember, all of our dance studios have two-way mirrors so parents may observe whenever they like. (Back to question.)
| Is there a dress code? |
No, we do not have a mandatory dress code that applies to all
classes; however, certain classes will require certain attire.
For students in Ballet I-V classes, dress code
information will be given in class. We do ask that all tap
classes wear black tap shoes and all ballet classes wear pink
ballet shoes. If your child participates in jazz, then black
jazz shoes are required.
